Become a Live & Grieve™ Facilitator
Step into the calling of holding space for others in their grief.

The Heart of Facilitation
Facilitators are the heartbeat of Live & Grieve™. They are not “experts” who fix grief or erase pain — they are steady companions who walk alongside others with honesty, compassion, and care.
To become a Live & Grieve™ facilitator is to step into a sacred role: creating spaces where grief can be named, shared, and carried together. It is about presence, not performance; listening, not lecturing; and honoring, not rushing.
If you’ve ever felt the pull to sit with others in their hardest seasons — to be a calm, steady presence when the world has gone silent — then you already carry the heart of a facilitator. Our training equips you with the tools, structure, and support you need to live out that calling with confidence and integrity.
How Training Works
We know facilitators come from all walks of life and all corners of the world. That’s why we designed a hybrid training model that is both accessible and personal.
- Online Training Modules
Learn at your own pace through guided lessons, reflections, and facilitator resources. You’ll receive access to videos, readings, and exercises that prepare you step by step for leading groups. - Interactive Virtual Sessions
Beyond the modules, you’ll join live online gatherings with trainers and fellow facilitators. These sessions are where theory meets practice — a chance to ask questions, role-play scenarios, and receive mentorship in real time. - Optional In-Person Intensives
For those who desire deeper immersion, we periodically host in-person trainings and retreats. These provide hands-on experience, connection, and renewal for those already serving or preparing to launch groups.
From the beginning, you’ll be equipped with the same workbooks and facilitator guides you’ll later use with your groups — so your training is practical, not abstract.
What You’ll Gain as a Facilitator
Becoming a facilitator isn’t about being given a binder and sent off to figure things out alone. It’s about being equipped, supported, and sustained in a way that makes the work both meaningful and manageable. Here’s what you’ll truly gain:
- A Complete Toolkit to Lead With Confidence
You’ll receive participant workbooks and facilitator guides that walk through each session step by step. These are not rigid scripts but steady frameworks, freeing you to focus on people while knowing the structure is there to carry the group. - Training That’s Trauma-Informed and Grounded in Real Life
Our approach combines professional best practices with the wisdom of lived experience. You’ll learn how to hold space without rushing or minimizing, how to recognize trauma responses, and how to maintain safe boundaries for yourself and your group. - Official Certification and Licensing
Your certification means more than a title. It’s a sign of trust. As a licensed facilitator, you carry the credibility of Live & Grieve™ — permission to lead official groups and represent the integrity of our program in your community. - A Community of Fellow Facilitators
You won’t walk this path alone. Facilitators are part of a growing network of people who share encouragement, insight, and steady presence with one another. Together we form a circle of care, not just for participants, but for those who lead them. - Continued Growth and Mentorship
Training is not a one-time event. As a facilitator, you’ll have opportunities for advanced workshops, peer gatherings, and mentorship. This ensures your skills stay fresh, your heart stays nourished, and your work remains sustainable over time. - A Lasting Impact in the Lives of Others
Most importantly, you gain the privilege of walking with people in their deepest pain — reminding them they are not alone. The steady presence of a facilitator often becomes a turning point for someone learning to live with loss. The impact is quiet, but it is life-changing.
Our Training Pathway
We offer a tiered training model so facilitators can grow at their own pace and level of calling. Each tier builds upon the one before it, ensuring that you are not just prepared to start — but supported to continue.
- Tier 1: Core Facilitation
This is where it begins. Tier 1 equips you with the essential skills and resources for leading your first group. You’ll learn how to use the workbooks, create a safe environment, and guide participants through 13-week sessions. It’s about building confidence and clarity — giving you the foundation to step into facilitation with steadiness. - Tier 2: Advanced Practice
Tier 2 takes you deeper. Here, you’ll explore the complexities of grief — including secondary losses, sudden or traumatic grief, and long-term adaptation. You’ll also strengthen your ability to navigate group dynamics, address difficult moments, and foster trust in diverse settings. This tier is for those who want to expand their skill set and carry greater depth into their groups. - Tier 3: Mastery & Mentorship
At the highest level, Tier 3 prepares facilitators to guide not just participants, but other facilitators. This pathway equips you to lead multiple groups, train new facilitators, and become a mentor in the Live & Grieve™ network. It’s for those who feel called to multiply impact — to extend the circle of care beyond a single group.
Together, these tiers create a pathway of growth: from starting your first group, to deepening your practice, to ultimately becoming a leader who shapes others in this vital work.
Who Can Become a Facilitator?
Facilitators come from many walks of life. Some are counselors, nurses, or pastors. Others are parents, siblings, or friends who have lived through loss themselves and want to offer the kind of support they once longed for.
You don’t need a specific degree or title to step into this role. What matters most is your heart — your willingness to:
- Hold space without rushing or fixing.
- Honor grief in its many forms.
- Commit to being steady and compassionate in the long haul.
If you carry those qualities, we can teach you the rest.
A Closing Word
Grief will always be part of the human story. But no one should have to carry it alone.
By becoming a Live & Grieve™ facilitator, you step into sacred work — not to erase pain, but to bear witness to it. Not to provide quick answers, but to remind people they are not forgotten. Not to lead with perfection, but to lead with presence.
Whether you join us online or in person, we will equip you with the tools, resources, and community you need to lead well. You will not walk this journey alone — and because of you, others won’t either.
