Structured learning, steady guidance, and compassionate training for every stage of the journey

Why We Offer Courses

Grief is not a single event, nor is supporting someone in grief a simple task. Both are journeys that unfold over time. Without tools, language, and companions, people often find themselves lost — unsure of how to keep living while carrying what has been lost.

Live & Grieve™ courses exist to meet that need. They are not abstract or clinical. They are not quick fixes or impersonal webinars. They are steady companions — guiding you with structure while leaving room for your unique story.

Every course we offer is built on three foundations:

  • Trauma-Informed Practice — because grief touches the body, mind, and spirit in complex ways.
  • Spiritual Awareness — because loss is not only practical, but deeply soul-level, touching meaning and purpose.
  • Lived Experience — because Live & Grieve™ was born not from theory, but from real family loss.

Our courses are for anyone on the journey: participants learning to live with grief, facilitators learning to guide, and communities learning to respond with compassion.

Participant Pathway

When grief enters your life, it disrupts everything — relationships, routines, sense of self, even your future. Most people are left without a map. The Participant Pathway is that map.

Living With Grief: A 13-Week Companion
This foundational course mirrors our first workbook. It is a step-by-step journey through 13 weeks of reflection, conversation, and guided practices. You’ll explore what grief looks like in daily life, how to make space for memories, and how to find small anchors of hope without denying the reality of your pain.

Continuing the Journey: Volumes 2–4
Because grief doesn’t end after 13 weeks, we’ve created courses that extend throughout the year. These follow our additional workbooks and cover themes such as secondary losses, shifting identity, carrying memory forward, and rediscovering meaning. Each builds gently on the last, offering a rhythm of steady support that lasts for a full year.

Designed for Flexibility

  • Self-Guided: Move through reflections and exercises privately at your own pace.
  • Group-Based: Join a Live & Grieve™ support group where participants walk through the material together.
  • Blended: Combine online materials, journaling, and group sessions for the richest experience.

Facilitator Pathway

Facilitators are the lifeblood of Live & Grieve™. They create the circles where grief is honored and carried together. The Facilitator Pathway is designed not only to train leaders but to sustain them, ensuring they are equipped, supported, and connected as they guide others.

Tier 1: Core Facilitation
This is the foundation for all facilitators. You’ll learn how to structure sessions using our guides, how to set safe boundaries, and how to nurture an atmosphere of honesty and trust. Tier 1 equips you to begin leading your first group with confidence and care.

Tier 2: Advanced Practice
Here, facilitators deepen their capacity. You’ll learn how to navigate the complexities of secondary losses, sudden or traumatic grief, and long-term adaptation. Tier 2 strengthens your ability to handle difficult dynamics with steadiness, compassion, and clarity.

Tier 3: Mastery & Mentorship
This is the highest level of our training. Tier 3 prepares you to not only lead groups but also train and mentor other facilitators. It’s for those called to multiply impact — extending the reach of Live & Grieve™ into new communities.

Training Format

  • Online Modules: Complete guided lessons at your own pace.
  • Live Interactive Sessions: Meet with trainers and peers to practice and reflect together.
  • Optional Intensives: In-person gatherings for deeper immersion and community-building.

Partner & Community Courses

Grief doesn’t just affect individuals — it ripples through families, workplaces, schools, and communities. Too often, organizations feel unequipped to respond. Our Partner & Community Courses are designed to bridge that gap.

Hosting a Live & Grieve™ Group
This course equips community centers, churches, schools, and organizations to launch grief support groups. It covers how to identify facilitators, prepare spaces, promote groups, and integrate them into your community.

Grief & Community Care Workshops
Short, focused trainings for workplaces, schools, and community teams. These workshops help groups understand the realities of grief, reduce stigma, and learn practical ways to offer support when tragedy strikes.

By equipping communities, we create ripples of compassion that extend far beyond a single circle.

How Our Courses Work

We’ve designed our courses to meet people where they are. You do not need to choose between flexibility and connection — each pathway blends both:

  • Online Modules: Video lessons, written guides, and reflection prompts accessible from anywhere.
  • Live Virtual Sessions: Interactive gatherings for practice, Q&A, and encouragement.
  • Printed Workbooks & Guides: Tangible anchors that keep the journey steady and accessible offline.
  • Optional In-Person Intensives: For those who thrive in hands-on, relational settings.

No matter the format, you will never be left alone to figure things out. Every course comes with access to our wider community and team.

A Closing Word

Grief is not something you “get over.” It is something you live with. Supporting people through grief is not something you improvise — it is something you prepare for.

Our courses are here to provide that preparation.

  • For the one who has lost: a steady companion through the pain.
  • For the one who leads: tools and training that make facilitation possible.
  • For the community: practical ways to respond with compassion.

Wherever you are on this journey, there is a course designed for you. And you will never have to walk through it alone.
